Mazda has finally lifted the veil on the all-new 2022 Mazda CX-50, a compact SUV that’s slightly larger than the CX-5, built on the same platform as the Mazda3 and the Mazda CX-30. Wider, longer and lower than the CX-5 urban SUV, the CX-50 is more geared toward adventure, whether off-roading or simply navigating difficult road conditions with ease.
The style of the 2022 Mazda CX-50 is characterized by practical elements aimed at meeting the needs of your inner adventurer, including wide rocker panels and protective wheel housing. The tracks are wider, improving the vehicle’s stability on hazardous terrain. On the inside, Mazda’s trademark luxury is fully in evidence. You’ll find an available panoramic sunroof—a first in Mazda SUVs. A new color, “terra cotta,” is also available, accentuating the luminous nature of the cabin.
The available powertrains will include a 2.5 L engine (with an estimated 186 hp and 186 lbf·ft of torque) and an available 2.5 L turbo engine (with an estimated 250 hp and 310 lbf·ft of torque), both of which will be paired with an automatic 6-speed transmission. The all-wheel drive, which will come standard on all models, has been improved to meet the needs of off-road enthusiasts with the addition of Off-Road and Towing drive modes, which will join Normal and Sport as Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) options. Mazda may offer a hybrid version, but hasn’t revealed when this might happen.
We anticipate that the arrival of the 2022 Mazda CX-50 will take place during the spring of 2022. Contact the sales team at Mazda Saint-Jérôme to find out when you can order yours!
